 why is music education important?

  • Mental Focus.

Music education - especially in early years - has been shown to improve cognitive abilities such as planning, inhibition, memory, and reasoning. Structured music lessons (such as violin!) are even more impactful.

  • Creative Outlet.

Creating a meaningful musical experience requires a lot of emotional involvement.
I love to teach students to listen to music like an artist, explore various styles, and develop the technique necessary to play expressively.

  • Body Awareness.

Playing the violin can be a very challenging yet rewarding physical pursuit. With a natural physical approach to the instrument, students of the violin develop a great deal of body awareness and coordination in order to isolate complex movements and release tension in the body.

“My son loves taking lessons from Rachel! She is so encouraging, positive, and enthusiastic. We could not be happier!”
